| Posted: 20 May 2010 08:53 PM PDT Many young girls look up to Miley Cyrus and her other personality Hannah Montana, so it's no surprise that Cyrus' clothing line and jewelry apparel sold very well at Wal-Mart stores. Parents now have to take the jewelry away from their children due to high levels of cadmium. Cadmium is a carcinogen that if ingested, turns poisonous. Parents don't have to worry about their children getting poisoned from wearing the jewelry, but if a younger child would happen to put it in their mouth and suck on it, it could turn deadly. According to the Washington Post, Wal-Mart knew that the jewelry contained cadmium, but did not remove the jewelry line from their shelves. Wal-Mart stores claim that they removed the pieces that failed the test, or the poisonous ones. Wal-Mart could be facing a class-action suit if any child ingested this poisonous material. |
